CASAA Academic Opportunities Award

To encourage undergraduate students in their pursuit of a liberal arts education, the Colleges of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association (CASAA) has established a scholarship program in which support is provided to undergraduate students as they undertake projects out of the State of Hawai`i that can enhance or further their academic careers. Support may be used for study travel, conference participation, fall or spring study abroad, or research, to name a few types of fundable activities. The maximum award granted is $2500.

The Colleges of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association was established in 1993 to “serve as a valuable link between the Colleges and the community in promoting awareness and appreciation of, and pride in, the lifetime value of a liberal education obtained from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa and to serve as a scholarship program for Arts & Sciences students.”

To be eligible for the CASAA award, a student must be a resident of the State of Hawai`i; be a full-time junior or senior at UH Manoa with a declared Arts & Sciences major; have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.5; have some degree of financial need; and have already received or intend to receive 50% of the undergraduate degree requirements from UH Manoa.
